• Ice breaker - What is something you consider to be the most important quality in a good leader?

  • Koya - Ability to Inspire

    • There will be times when everyone is going through it and you need to have the strength to push through to your end goal and get the whole team to the finish line

  • Eric - The process of listening, discerning, & integrating 

    • Strongest leader is often the quietest one in the room

  • Toni - Ability to Delegate

    • The goal you are trying to accomplish cannot be completed by one person alone!

    • Includes all the people that want to be included

    • Gives purpose within the team

    • Comes with a large amount of trust!

  • Danielle - Ability to Compromise

    • Really important considering the diversity of people we need and want to work with

    • Thinking about the group!

    • Balance with restrictions (not walking all over you as a leader)

    • If you’re not thinking for the benefit of the group you’re not actually leading

  • Alex - Patience

    • Need to give grace when you’re leading

    • Koya shout out Eric for his patience with one of his mentee

    • Media Release Form folder also being made for signed forms!

  • National Treasurer

    • Waiting on the insurance policy pricing update

    • ACC allowed us to use their address for our address forms!

    • Need to find out the balance on DMRSEF Account

    • Meeting with treasurers about order protocol; reach out slated for two Mondays from now

  • Branch Presidents

    • Aurora Board – Alex

      • TEKS starting very soon!

        • Boston starting this upcoming week

        • AST starting this upcoming week as well!

      • Training needed for mentors (one hour)

      • Alex will send calendar invites to Eric about meetings!

      • Koya will get the background check consent form

      • Reaching out to more people for mentors

  • National Director

    • Wrapping up some loose ends and catching up post defense

• Website update(s) - if possible, approve final draft of website for launch

  • Website is like 95% there! Missing Aurora KOA photos

  • Few small detail edits needed

• Annual national update report draft review

  • Icon on bottom page to be adjusted to ~.5”

  • Metrics from Bay Area KOA’s outreach and event stuff

  • Please send Toni the letters for individual blog posts!

• Brainstorming for 2027-2028 budget

  • Planning for future branches + turning J-KOA into an institution

  • What do we want to invest in?

    • J-KOA activity sponsorship

    • Like the idea of a grant/scholarship idea (i.e. travel awards for conferences, astrocamp, etc.)

    • Expand our nonprofit without putting more strain on current volunteers

    • Office/community space – “Partnership Hub”

  • Short term stuff: Aim to have 2027-28 budget draft by November Board Meeting!
