The TEKS Mentorship Program

Simon (purple hair) and Serenity (red hair) - Denver Metro Regional Science and Engineerin

The TEKS Mentorship program received its name in honor of J-KOA's three original mentors, who helped pioneer the program: Tarik Walker, Eric G. Stokes and Kevin Nugent.

Since J-KOA's founding, we have supported 45 students through the science fair process (12 in our inaugural year, 16 in the 2024-25 academic year, and 17 in the 2025-26 academic year) from project development through the presentation process.

For the 2026-27 academic year, we looking forward to supporting our next wave of students through the Denver Metro Region Science and Engineering Fair.
