Notes

• Ice breaker - what is "the hill you'd die on?"

  • Koya: Education is a silver bullet; a lot of our worlds problems could be fixed if everyone truly had equitable access to education

  • Danielle: Athletes should not be paid NEARLY as much as they are compared to other people in other fields

  • Andrea: Your 20’s should be to make mistakes, explore and have fun. Not supposed to have it all figured out

  • Alex: Social Media has made people look too similar

  • Toni: Dolores Madrigal is the true villain in Encanto

• Member updates in the following order (5 min/person)

    • Requesting budgets from all branches! 

    • End of August/Mid-September preferred!

  • National Historian

    • Working on finalizing some article drafts and would appreciate eyes

    • Please work on all articles so we can start sharing on the blog page

    • Please send over all deliverables from previous meeting!

    • Want to get the website up

  • National Treasurer

    • Taking care of fees for the storage facility

    • Needs log-in information and transfer information for documentation so that we can get Amy’s name off the storage unit!

    • Annual payment in November for the nonprofit address 

      • Need to update the 501(c) address after Koya moves from Colorado in October

  • Branch Presidents

    • Aurora KOA

      • Inauguration scheduled for the 3rd!

      • Setting expectations for the academic year so that everyone is on the same page

      • Meeting after initial inauguration open to the general body

    • Bay KOA

      • We have our second event at another library August 15

        • Anticipating over 100 students!!

        • Doing the same demo

      • Inauguration August 25

      • Another event planned for October/November with the library we worked with before

    • Reminder to branch presidents to develop branch budgets within the first month of their terms

• Branch inauguration prep: onboarding, venues, invitations, merch orders, etc.

  • Onboarding: share drive clean up

  • Meetings with each role/developing role resources

  • Background checks: need to talk to compliance officer about consent form

    • Koya has an idea for the system with Danielle and Toni

    • Koya to upload the entire USB to the share drive

    • Full folder and catered folders for each roles

  • For consideration: 2 badges–one for students, one for mentors–one day someone could see our name/logo on something and recognize the org in a positive, reputable light
